Can you imagine telling your dog, “Let’s go to the vet!” and seeing her tail wag? How about getting out your cat’s carrier and seeing him come running?
Known as Fear Free, the training and certification program helps veterinarians and staff modify their procedures, handling, and facilities to help pets feel safe and comfortable while receiving the medical care they need. One of our own Veterinary Technicians (Katie Teninty, RVT) became Fear Free Certified back in May 2017. We have put into effect many changes here at Eastview. We hope to make every patient as fear free as possible. One of our clients left us this review on facebook: “Today I took my dog Tsunami in for a nail trim...they put some of the Adaptil on a bandana and put it around her neck...it work great...Tsunami has always fought getting her front paws trimmed this is the first time she did not get all upset.” Founded by veterinarian Dr. Marty Becker, the Fear Free training program was developed by board-certified veterinary behaviorists, veterinary technician behavior specialists, board-certified veterinary anesthetists, well-known veterinary practice management experts, and boarded veterinary practitioners experienced in Fear Free methods.
