Our History
Eastview was established in 1956 by Dr. James Francis. The original practice was located out of his home. It was primarily a large animal practice which on occasion took care of pets. Dr. Forrest Trafton joined the practice in 1960. Dr. Trafton was primarily interested in small animal medicine. Shortly after joining the team the practice moved to our Bladensburg road address. It began in a small house with a garage. It was so small dogs and sick calves were housed in the garage.
In 1972 the building we are currently located in was built. It was considered the "Cadillac Clinic". In 1985 Dr. Elizabeth Doggett joined the team. Dr. Trafton and Dr. Doggett made a great team together for their small animal patients. In 1990 Eastview became exclusively a small animal practice as Dr. Francis had retired.
1993 Dr. Trafton retired and sold the practice to Dr. Doggett. The focus began to shift more on client relationships and satisfaction.
In 1996 Dr. Jan Tallman joined the team. She brought with her a strong desire to practice excellent small animal medicine. Dr. Tallman bought half of the practice in 1998. Both Dr. Doggett and Dr. Tallman share a passion to deliver the highest quality medicine that can be provided.
In September 2020 Dr. Tammi Epp joined the practice. In October 2020 Dr. Lori Hickie also joined the team.
Dr. Doggett sold her half of the practice to Dr. Tallman and retired after 36 loyal years on December 30th, 2020.
